Mary grew up on a farm in Southeast Michigan near the Lake Erie shoreline. Her happiest memories are being outdoors in the summer, running barefoot in the soft grass, playing with her sister or neighborhood friends, and playing with "pet" baby calves in the barn. She could often be found under a shade tree with a stack of library books. 
She's a wife, mom, and grammy, who, besides writing, enjoys time with friends and family, gardening, and being out in nature.  
She still lives in Michigan with her husband and she still loves cows.
