Bickley

It was like every other busy, bustling morning.

Lola got eggs for breakfast.

Mariah got cereal, and Micah got pancakes.

Bickley’s nose sniffed.

Bickley got kibble…in his dish…on the floor.

 “Here you go, Bickley.”

No one noticed.

Everyone gets to go somewhere.

Lola got to ride the bus to school.

Mariah rode to school with Dad, and Micah got to ride to daycare in the van with Mom.

Bickley’s tail wagged.

Bickley had to stay home…alone.

“Stay, Bickley.” Mom pointed to his bed.

No one cared.

Time for afterschool fun.

Lola rode her bike around the neighborhood with Nadia.

Mariah played tag in the yard with Anna and J.J., and Mom pushed Micah on the swing.

Bickley got to go out...with his leash tied to the stake.

Bickley barked and tugged.

“No barking, Bickley.”

No one paid attention.

Aha! Halloween night. Trick-or-treat delight.

Lola dressed as the tooth fairy.

Mariah wore her cowgirl costume, and Micah was a vampire.

They were all heading out to Trick-or-Treat.

Bickley had an idea!

Everyone noticed now.

“Bickley, you are the best ghost!”

This time Bickley got to go!
